Illinois State University will honor its founding on Thursday, February 15, 2024, with a bell ringing ceremony. The event will be followed by an appreciation luncheon for faculty and staff members only that includes an awards ceremony.

Old Main Bell Ringing Ceremony – open to the public

  • 10 a.m. Prairie Room, Bone Student Center
  • Nominate a bell ringer! Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon – Please note:  The luncheon is for all current ISU faculty, Administrative Professional (A/P), and Civil Service employees and does not include students and/or graduate assistants. Faculty/Staff ID must be presented.

  • 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Circus Room and Brown Ballroom, Bone Student Center 
  • Buffet – You must RSVP by Thursday, February 1, 2024.
  • Program – Begins at 12:15 p.m. Awards to be presented at the luncheon include: Outstanding University Service Award, Service Initiative Awards, David A. Strand Diversity Achievement Award, Environmental Stewardship Award, CS Distinguished Service Awards, A/P Distinguished Service Awards, A/P Emerging Leader Awards, CS and A/P Esprit de Corps, TEAM Excellence, and Stan and Sandy Rives Excellence in Undergraduate Education Award.

Faculty, staff dining discounts
Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) will offer faculty and staff discounts at both dining centers every Friday in February.  

Visit Watterson Dining Commons or the Marketplace at Linkins to enjoy all-you-care-to-eat lunch for $8.10 or dinner for $9.60, with an Illinois State University ID. The dinner price begins at 4:30 p.m.
