On February 21, 2024, Daniel Wagner spoke with students in the Department of Politics and Government’s POL 296 professional development course. His discussion with students included his background, work experiences, and career and personal advice, with an emphasis on the importance of volunteering and the opportunities that volunteering can provide.

Wagner is an alumnus of ISU’s political science undergraduate program (1989) and graduate program (1994), and he is currently senior vice president of government relations with the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies. Among other roles, Wagner is also the chair-elect of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the vice-chair of the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce Board. In addition, he is a board member for the Civic Federation of Chicago and for the Chicago Farmer Association Board.

Wagner is a winner of the ISU Alumni Achievement Award and a Hall of Fame Inductee of the College of Arts and Sciences.
