The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University approved resolutions at its regular meeting on February 16, 2024. Full text of those resolutions can be found on the Board of Trustees website.    

Authorization for ISU College of Engineering Building Preparatory Projects
The Board of Trustees authorized expenditures not to exceed $3 million to complete all necessary design and construction work for two preparatory projects to prepare for the renovation of the John Green Building and the Carter Harris Administration Building into the new Illinois State University College of Engineering Building. The preparatory construction needs were identified during the construction documents development/due diligence phase of project development, and need to be addressed in a timely manner to maintain the current project schedule.

Authorization for University High School Chemistry Lab Renovation
Trustees authorized expenditures not to exceed $730,000 to complete all necessary design and construction work for a proposed 1,050 square ft. renovation to the University High School Chemistry Lab 315. The full renovation of the third-floor lab will upgrade the facility to current pedagogical standards.

Approval of B.A., B.S. in Sports Communication
Trustees voted to approve the proposal for degree granting authority for the B.A., B.S. in Sports Communication. The program in sports communication builds students’ knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes in the ideation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of communication efforts specifically meant for sports and athletics organizations. The program will be administered by the School of Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences and will be delivered by current faculty and through existing courses at its inception, with additional instructional capacity provided by the Office of the Provost as necessitated by enrollment growth.
