Illinois State University educates nearly 21,000 students. It feeds many of them, too. Campus dining centers include the Marketplace at Linkins and the recently renovated Watterson Dining Commons (WDC). Locations offering fare from well-known brands Starbucks, Qdoba, and McAlister’s Deli are right here on campus, too. All are managed by Event Management, Dining and Hospitality, the largest university department with approximately 1,000 employees; about 800 of them are students. Dining options have increased exponentially since students first visited WDC, above left in 1969. Today, above right in 2023, WDC has something for everyone, including menu items from around the world and allergen-free options.
