Nominations for the Illinois State University honorary degree will continue to be accepted until October 31, 2022.
Honorary degrees may be awarded in recognition of persons who have achieved a record of major distinction at the state or national level in education, public service, literature, business, fine arts, or other professions.
Past honorary degree winners include ISU NAACP chapter founder Andrew Purnell, and actors Jane Lynch and Sean Hayes.
Nominations may be submitted by any member of the University community, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Nominations may also be submitted by the general public.
Letters of nomination should be addressed to the associate vice president for Graduate Studies at Illinois State. This letter and supporting materials, including resume and/or related information, should be sent to Amy Scovel alscove@IllinoisState.edu, Research and Sponsored Programs, Campus Box 3040, Normal, IL 61790-3040. Nominations are due by October 31, 2022. Electronic submission (as a single PDF file) is encouraged.
