On December 3, the College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) held its Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition that challenges master’s and doctoral students to describe their research topic and its significance in just 3 minutes to a general audience.

FBI virtual internships fair was successfully hosted by IT students October 7
On October 7, the School of Information Technology Registered Student Organizations hosted a virtual internship fair with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for summer 2022 recruitment opportunities. Due to COVID restrictions, the FBI (along with many other organizations) was unable to attend the in-person internship fair. The student club leaders identified technology-enabled career fairs as an opportunity to bring these internship prospects to ISU students. The FBI event is the first of what they hope will be many such events.

School of IT Students teamed up to create a webpage for a local business
Eddie Becker, an Information Systems –System analytics student; Mathew Weiner ’20, a recent Computer Science graduate; Erik Wenth, a Cybersecurity student; Zach Oettle, a student of Networking and Telecommunications Management; and Ryan Skare, an Information Systems student with a focus on Web Application Development were teamed up randomly in IT 391- last summer and completed a successful project for a local business – The Recipe Girls.

During the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on November 7-9, 2018, Brandon Khoury ’17, M.S. ’18 and Manan Shah placed first in the student poster competition for their research poster, “The Future of Learning Using Virtual Reality to Teach Industrial Robotics.”
