AsiaConnect will host a virtual forum at 3 p.m. February 25 via Zoom.  

The event, which is open to the University community, will spotlight AsiaConnect member Dr. T.Y. Wang, who holds the titles of University Professor and chair of the Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University.

Wang currently serves as the co-editor of the Journal of Asian and African Studies and was the coordinator of the Conference Group of Taiwan Studies (CGOTS) of the American Political Science Association. Wang’s current research focuses on Taiwanese national identity, electoral behavior, cross-Strait relations, and U.S. policy toward China and Taiwan.

He has authored, co-authored, or edited seven books/special issues and published more than 50 articles/book chapters in such scholarly journals as the American Political Science ReviewAsian SurveyInternational Studies Quarterly, Issues and StudiesJournal of Peace ResearchPolitical Research Quarterly, and Social Science Quarterly. He is the co-editor of the Taiwan Voter (University of Michigan Press). Wang has been invited to conduct presentations and workshops in China, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. 

AsiaConnect, an affinity group at Illinois State University, strives to promote cultural diversity across campus. The group awards scholarships to students who study and promote Asian culture in the Bloomington-Normal community
