Illinois State University is requesting nominations for candidates for the honorary degree. Honorary degrees may be awarded by Illinois State University in recognition of persons who have achieved a record of major distinction at the state or national level in education, public service, literature, business, fine arts, or other professions.

Here is a list of the previous recipients. Nominations may be submitted by any member of the University community, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Nominations may also be submitted by the general public.

Nomination packets should include a letter of nomination, a statement regarding the impact/distinction of the nominee, three letters of support, and evidence of nominee accomplishments (no more than 20 pages) in the form of a vita, resume, portfolio, or other evidence of distinction. Letters of nomination should be addressed to the Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at Illinois State University.
