Please join us on Friday, April 19, at 12 p.m. on Floor 2 of Milner Library for a book panel and discussion on the Handbook of Asian American Families edited by Dr. Chang Su-Russell and Dr. Luke Russell, associate professors in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Illinois State University; and Dr. Anthony G. James Jr., professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Science and Social Work at Miami University.
Handbook of Asian American Families provides theoretical, conceptual, empirical, and practical research examining the intricacies and nuances of the present in Asian American family dynamics and relationships. Topics such as immigration, racism, divorce, motherhood, and the model minority myth are explored.
Moderated by Dr. Chang Su-Russell, the panel will include faculty members Luke Russell, Suejung Han, from the Department of Psychology, and Archana Shekara, from the Wonsook Kim School of Art.
In addition to the panel, food will be provided along with a pop-up library with various resources to explore. Please visit the following link for a complete list of literature. This event is open to the public and we encourage attendees to RSVP.
