Illinois State University will host a screening of the film The Hunting Ground at 5:15 p.m. Monday, September 19, in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Join Illinois State University Women’s and Gender Studies Program and ISU Health Promotion and Wellness in their effort to increase awareness about sexual violence on college campuses. The Hunting Ground, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, has gained strength in the last few years after similar screenings at colleges across the country.
This powerful film documents the rape crimes on college campuses, their institutional cover-ups, and the devastating toll these crimes have on students and their families. A discussion panel will follow the screening.
The Women’s and Gender Studies Program and Health Promotion and Wellness are partnering together to sponsor the event. For more information, contact Women’s and Gender Studies Program at (309) 438-2947.
