Don’t be left in the cold on payday

Employees who receive a “hard copy” payroll check should make arrangements to pick up their checks by the close of business Friday, December 21, 2018 at the University Payroll Office located in College Place Uptown, Suite E.  As usual, a photo ID and signature is required for pickup.

Form W-4 notices

All employees who claimed total exemption from income tax withholding in 2018 must submit a new 2019 Form W-4 by February 15, 2019.

The Illinois State University Payroll Office is pleased to announce that active employees may elect to receive their W-2 statements online through iPeople Employee Self Service in an IRS approved PDF format. This allows you to print and send the online form with your tax return. Employees will not have to worry about their tax documents being lost in the mail.

IRS creates ‘Paycheck Checkup’ flyer

The IRS created a one-page flyer employers can give to employees to remind them to complete a Paycheck Checkup so they will not receive an unexpected tax bill or penalty at tax time (IRS, Publication 5303, Paycheck Checkup, rev. 6-18, posted 7-12-18). The publication reminds employees to use the IRS’s withholding calculator to complete the Paycheck
